Toledo Police investigate the scene of a cruiser crash that happened Saturday morning on I-75 south, near Exit 206 for Phillips Avenue, during a chase of a man wanted in an armed robbery.

A Toledo Police vehicle crashed Saturday during a chase of a man suspected of the armed robbery of a North Toledo Rite Aid earlier this week.

The crash was reported at 9:28 a.m. on southbound I-75, near Lagrange Street. At least three other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police closed I-75 northbound from Lagrange to Phillips after the crash.

The failed pursuit Saturday follows an unsuccessful chase Friday of the same man.

Authorities Friday conducted a five-hour manhunt across the Ohio border into Michigan in search of Brian Lipp, 48, who police said was armed and dangerous.

Toledo police officers chased the suspect Friday from North Toledo into Erie, Mich. Police lost the man after he ditched his vehicle and ran north along railroad tracks. The search for the man included the use of a helicopter.
