West Toledo fire displaces residents
9/17/2011A house fire that broke out early Saturday at 5831 Deane Drive near Alexis Road displaced a family of five.
Toledo firefighters were called to the scene at about 12:30 a.m., and were on the scene for about 20 minutes, according to fire officials. There were no serious injuries, but one occupant was treated at the scene for a minor burn.
Battalion Chief Karen Marquardt said damage to the home was estimated at $40,000.
The Red Cross is assisting two adults and three children who were displaced by the fire.
The Lucas County Auditor’s Office lists the owners of the residence as Robert T. and Cheryl Newbold.
