Monroe authorities respond to vehicle explosion

MONROE — City of Monroe police and Michigan State police were on the scene late Tuesday of a vehicle explosion in the city, authorities said.

The incident was reported after 8 p.m.

The extent of injuries was not known, but at least one ambulance was dispatched, authorities said.

The Michigan State police bomb squad was called to assist.
