Man arrested for stabbing wife
10/1/2011A Toledo man was arrested early Saturday and charged with stabbing his wife, police said.
Walter L. Benton, 29, was charged with a single count of felonious assault. He was booked into the Lucas County Jail at 3 a.m. after his arrest.
His address was listed on booking records as 1057 Orchard St. but police on Friday said he lived at 815 North Ontario St.
His wife, Jessica, 22, was stabbed late Thursday. She was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where a hospital spokesman said she had no information on her condition. Police found her in a pool of blood about 11 p.m. at an apartment in Vistula Manor, police said. The suspect fled before officers arrived.
