Turnpike stop in Sandusky County nabs $100,000 worth of drugs

FREMONT — Just after midnight, State Highway patrol troopers found about 20 pounds of hydroponic marijuana worth $100,000.

Troopers stopped a 2001 Toyota Camry for speeding on the Ohio Turnpike in Riley Township about 12:16 a.m. Wednesday. A search of the vehicle, driven by Albert Ross III of Lorain, netted the drugs.

Mr. Ross, who is being held in the Sandusky County jail, was charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana.

Information about Mr. Ross’ arraignment and bond was not immediately available.
