After more than a month of investigating, Toledo police have produced a sketch of the person who they say is responsible for shooting a city employee inside his home.

Tommy Butts, 43, was shot at his home in the 1800 block of Giant Street, near Upton Avenue, on Aug. 25.

Police said Mr. Butts answered his door about 7:45 a.m. and let inside a man who said he was from Toledo Edison. The man said he had to check Mr. Butts’ electrical box for problems.

After showing the man where the electrical box was, Mr. Butts was shot several times. The gunman then fled the house without taking anything.

At the time, police described the injuries as “very serious.”

The gunman is described by police as a black man, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches, and weighs about 180 pounds.
