BRYAN, Ohio —Three eastern Ohio residents were killed Monday in a car-semi collision on the Ohio Turnpike in Williams County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Pronounced dead at the scene were Andrew Knapik, Jr., 64, and his wife, Barbara Knapik, 64, both of Hiram, and Carol Knapik, 68, of Aurora.

Troopers said Mr. Knapik was driving east on the turnpike about 3 p.m. when his car went out of control and crossed the median into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by the oncoming tractor trailer.

The truck driver, Brian Snodgrass, 53, of Viroqua, Wis., was not hurt. Investigators did not know if weather conditions contributed to the crash.

The accident occurred near mile marker 18, about 10 miles east of Bryan.
