A family of five was displaced Tuesday morning by a North Toledo house fire.

The blaze was reported about 8:30 a.m. at 3312 Wilson Pl. Firefighters arrived to find flames visible from the left side of the two-story structure, said Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld, a fire department spokesman.

The owner, according to Lucas County auditor's records, is Donna Keys, who has a mailing address of Winterset Drive in Toledo. The cause of the fire is under investigation, said Lieutenant Hertzfeld, who estimated the loss at $7,000. No one was injured.

The occupants --two adults and three children -- received lodging, food, and clothing help through the Greater Toledo Regional Chapter of the American Red Cross. So far this month in Lucas County, the Red Cross has provided aid to residents affected by at least 14 fires -- seven in the last five days alone, said Jason Copsey, Red Cross spokesman. The monthly average is 15, he said.
