Toledo police name suspect in latest murder

Police say they know who killed Tyrone Patterson, Jr., who died Wednesday morning after being shot in North Toledo.

Quintin Allen Helm, 20, of 635 E. Hudson St., allegedly shot and killed Patterson, 23, “during the commission of an aggravated robbery,” according to documents filed Thursday in Toledo Municipal Court.

He has not been arrested.

Mr. Helm does have a criminal history per municipal court records, which includes receiving stolen property, aggravated burglary, and criminal trespassing, which were all dismissed. He was found guilty of loitering and obstructing official business.

In 2010, Helm was found guilty in Lucas County Common Pleas Court of burglary, for which he was sentenced to five years of community control.

Patterson was shot twice, once in the hand and once in the chest, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office. He was shot just after midnight at East Delaware Avenue and Walnut Street.

Helm is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet, 2 inches, and weighs about 115 pounds.
