Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a robbery Tuesday during which a man robbed a South Toledo carryout and threatened the clerk with a handgun, authorities said.

The assailant walked into Westwood Carry Out, 2620 Airport Hwy., about 9:20 p.m., pointed a gun at the clerk, and demanded money, police said.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, but not before being fired upon. It was unclear from where the shots were fired; police say the robber was armed with a black 9mm handgun or pistol. The store clerk told police that the robbery suspect was not struck.

A video released by Toledo police Wednesday shows the suspect entering the store with a gun and taking cash from the clerk. It does not show any shots being fired.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stopper. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
