Police arrest suspect in spray-paint vandalism

BOWLING GREEN -- Police have arrested a 19-year-old man after he allegedly spray-painted a number of Wood County buildings, including the courthouse.

Brent Williams, whose address was unknown, was arrested Tuesday and was being held in the Wood County jail on a charge of criminal mischief. His bond was set at $5,000.

He appeared Wednesday in Bowling Green Municipal Court by video. The case was continued to 9 a.m. Friday.

Working with Bowling Green State University police, officers from the Bowling Green city police department investigated leads that led them to Mr. Williams, authorities said.

Mr. Williams is accused of spraying the Wood County Courthouse Complex; garages in the 700 block of Sixth Street and the 300 block of North Main Street; a business in the 400 block of East Wooster Street, and behind businesses in the 100, 200, and 300 blocks of South Main Street.

Graffiti also was found on the BGSU campus.

Most of the messages or characterizations made reference to "fa5v_0" or resembled crowns and circular figures, police said. Bowling Green Lt. Bradley Biller did not return calls for comment.
