NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio --Two women were arrested and three men charged after an undercover prostitution operation at a motel in North Baltimore Wednesday night.

Jamie Lynn Bishop, 37, 573 Yondota St., Toledo, was charged with promoting prostitution, solicitation, and possession of marijuana. Brenda Wells, 43, 113 Oak St., Toledo, was charged with solicitation.

Ms. Bishop appeared by video arraignment in Bowling Green Municipal Court on Thursday. She requested a continuance to consult an attorney and will be back in court on Dec. 21, according to court records.

Ms. Wells was also arraigned by video Thursday, and she requested a continuance to consult an attorney. She is scheduled to appear again Dec. 28.

Charles Smith of Bluffton, Ohio; Marc Akam of Lakeville, Ohio; and Mark Laudick of Fort Jennings, Ohio, were charged with solicitation in the same case. The court was able to provide no information on the men.

Wood County Sheriff Sgt. Terry James declined to say which motel the operation was conducted at, but said authorities had received complaints of prostitution in that area.

"We're trying to keep the prostitutes out of Wood County," the sergeant said.

The sergeant said they seized a small amount of marijuana from Ms. Bishop.
