Toledo police seek a man who they say robbed two people as they were leaving the Locke Branch Library early this month.

Brooklyn Adkins, 18, told police she was leaving the library just after 8 p.m. Dec. 6 when a man yelled at her and hit her several times in the head, knocking her to the ground. He grabbed her bookbag, containing a laptop and a game player, and ran, the report said.

About the same time, John Garcia, 58, was walking home from the library near Jay and Utah streets when a man with a gun demanded his bookbag. The victim handed over the bookbag, with his laptop inside. The suspect and another man fled.

The robber is described as about 18, black, 6 feet tall, and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans and displayed a black handgun, police said.
