Toledo fire crews battled blazes at separate vacant houses in the city Saturday evening and early Sunday.
Fire was reported at 7 p.m. Saturday in a house at 128 Islington St., while firefighters were dispatched to 3813 Hazelhurst Ave. just after 3 a.m. Sunday.
Toledo fire Lt. Larry Armstrong said specific causes for both fires remained undetermined Sunday, but the Islington fire was ruled to be of suspicious origin.
Damage estimates were unavailable for either dwelling. According to Lucas County land records, the Islington house is owned by Mary and Ward Owens, while the Hazelhurst property belongs to Andrea DeLuca.
