A 77-year-old Swanton woman who was a passenger in a car her husband was driving died from injuries she suffered Friday in a two-vehicle collision that injured three other people in Lucas County's Richfield Township near Berkey.

Troopers with the Toledo post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said Mona Kennedy was flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, where she was pronounced dead.

Her husband, Charles Kennedy, 75, was taken to Flower Hospital.

Troopers said Mr. Kennedy was southbound on Murd Road at 3:50 p.m. when he failed to stop his minivan at a stop sign and collided with an eastbound minivan driven on Sylvania Avenue by Kathie Pertcheck, 63, of Sylvania.

Riding with Mrs. Pertcheck was her husband, Dale Pertcheck, 64, and their two dogs. The Pertchecks were taken to Toledo Hospital. The Lucas County Dog Warden's office was summoned to care for the animals.

The conditions of the three injured survivors were not available. Both vehicles landed in a field southeast of the intersection. Troopers said alcohol was not known to be a factor.
