Bicyclist shoots, robs man in North Toledo

A man was shot and robbed Sunday night in the 2800 block of North Erie Street in North Toledo, police said.

Victor Branch, 20, who address was unavailable, was shot once in the abdomen about 6 p.m. as he was walking on North Erie near Albany Street by a man who was riding a bicycle, said Sgt. Stephen Zarecki.

The victim went to a nearby residence, where the occupants called 911.

Sergeant Zarecki said the shooting victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The gunman, who took the victim’s cell phone, was described as a young male, possibly a teenager, and was riding a bike silver in color. He was last seen heading south on North Erie, the sergeant said.
