A suspected arson fire damaged a vacant house Friday night in Toledo’s Old South End, authorities said.

There were no injuries, according to the Toledo fire department.

Fire crews arrived about 7:52 p.m. and saw smoke and flames coming from a single-story wood frame house at 1038 Harding Dr. They made a forced entry and found a small fire in a room in the rear of the house, fire Lt. Larry Armstrong said.

Firefighters attacked the flames and extinguished them within a few minutes. The fire was contained to the room where it started, Lieutenant Armstrong said.

Toledo police were called to the scene and initiated an arson investigation, according to police records.

The damage estimate wasn’t available.

The Lucas County Auditor’s Web site lists Dan Robinson as the owner of the house. It was built in 1892.
