2 shot in South Toledo parking lot

Toledo Police are investigating a shooting Sunday morning that left two men with injuries, thought neither appeared to be life-threatening.

Sgt.Joe Heffernan said the two victims told police they were shot in the parking lot at at 135 South Byrne Road by somebody who drove by. The address is a shopping center that has the Deja Vu strip club and other businesses.

One person was shot in the back. The other was shot in the leg, Sergeant Heffernan said. The victims were transported to University of Toledo Medical Center, former Medical College of Ohio, and Toledo Hospital, where information was withheld because of the federal hospital privacy law.

The shootings occurred about 2:20 a.m.
