Fire investigators were working the scene of a vacant house fire in the 1800 block of Giant Street in West Toledo early Wednesday, authorities said.

There were no reported injuries, according to the Toledo fire department.

Fire crews arrived about 4:46 a.m. and saw smoke and fire coming from a two-story wood frame house at 1827 Giant. They attacked the blaze and brought it under control by 5:18 a.m. Arson investigators were later called to the scene, firefighters said.

The damage estimate had not been done. The cause of the fire remained under investigation, according to the department.

The Lucas County Auditor’s Web site lists the U.S. Bank National Association as the owner of the building. It was built in 1912.
