Toledo firefighters battled a trio of blazes late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

A family was unharmed after escaping a fire in the upper level of a duplex at 3133 N. Detroit Ave. in the central city just after 10 p.m. Saturday, said Lt. Larry Armstrong of the Toledo Fire Department. An estimate of the damages or cause of the fire was unavailable.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the family of one adult and three children with emergency food, clothing, and shelter. The Lucas County auditor’s Web site lists the owner of the property as Doris Holland.

The fire department also put out fires at 1112 Marmion Ave. in central Toledo and 321 Cincinnati St. in North Toledo early Sunday morning. In both cases, the homes appeared to be vacant and were declared total losses. The cause in both is still under investigation, said Lieutenant Armstrong. Lucas County auditor’s Web site lists the owner of the Marmion Avenue home as Adell and Elizabeth Bell, and the Cincinnati Street home as Patricia Ann Hamilton.
