Toledo police Thursday identified three men shot in two separate incidents on Wednesday.

Thomas Barker, 40, was shot about 8:15 p.m. outside his residence at Byrneport Apartments on Byrneport Drive, police said.

Mr. Barker was shot three times as he stood, groceries in hand, at the door of his apartment complex, Sgt. Bill Wauford said.

He was taken to University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio. A hospital spokesman had no information about a patient by that name.

Sergeant Wauford said the man was stable and talking at the hospital. Police had no description late Wednesday of a suspect, but hoped witnesses would come forward.

Earlier Wednesday, two men, Deangelo Parker, 23, and Brandon Clark, 27, were shot in the 1300 block of Forest Avenue, near Palmwood Avenue.

Police said the men were shot at by at least one of four people who drove by in a white Cadillac about 4:50 p.m. Parker was shot in the right thigh, and Clark was shot in the lower left torso, police said.

The motive in both cases was unknown.
