Two shot, 1 reported dead in North Toledo

Two people were shot in a car— one reportedly fatally — about 10:25 p.m. Wednesday in the 3200 block of Maple Street near Streicher Street in North Toledo, authorities said.

Toledo police were looking for a vehicle that witnesses saw driving from the scene. No description was released.

Initial reports were that a female was taken by Life Squad to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. A second Life Squad was dispatched, but transported no one. Soon after arriving at the scene, the unit went back into service, ready to take another call.

A male was reported to be the second victim and was found in the car, according to reports.

Toledo police remained on the scene late Wednesday.
