Two people were transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Thursday morning following a shooting in Jerusalem Township, police said.

The man was believed to be shot, and it was unclear the extent of his girlfriend’s injuries, said Sergeant James Heck from the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office.

Sergeant Heck said he did not know who shot the man during the incident that took place at 9:50 a.m. at 11214 Bunting Rd.

“I’m told the man walked out under his own power, so it doesn’t sound like it was very serious,” he said.

Authorities are still investigating at the scene and could not provide the names or ages of the two people hospitalized.
