Bellevue fire caused by lightning

BELLEVUE, Ohio — The fire that struck four truck trailers loaded with magnesium Tuesday at the MagReTech, Inc. plant was caused by a lightning strike, the Ohio Fire Marshal said Thursday.

The fire marshal’s ruling was based on data from the National Weather Service, information collected during interviews with witnesses, and investigation into the fire.

There were no injuries, but schools were closed for the day.
