Monroe man dies in head-on collision
3/20/2012MONROE — An 87-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon when he apparently tried to pass another vehicle and collided with an oncoming vehicle on M-50 in Monroe County’s Raisinville Township, Michigan State Police said.
George White of Monroe died in an Ann Arbor hospital, officers said. He was driving west about 1 p.m. and entered the eastbound lane to pass another vehicle, colliding head-on with a car driven by Christopher Pluff.
Mr. Pluff of Monroe and passenger John Gebhardt of Maryland were taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital. Their conditions were not available.
