As many as five people are still at large after an East Toledo home invasion that led to a short-term lockdown of two nearby schools.

The home invasion, reported to police about 9:30 a.m. Friday, occurred in the 100 block of East Broadway, Toledo police Capt. James O'Bryant said.

A woman inside the home answered her door and was confronted by four or five men who forced the woman and her daughter to the floor and covered them with a blanket, the captain said.

At least one of the men may have been armed, putting what was believed to be a gun to the back of the woman's head, according to a police report.

The men ransacked the home and grabbed various housewares, then fled.

As a precaution, Waite High School and Garfield Elementary School were put on lockdown about 10:15 a.m., said Patty Mazur, a spokesman for Toledo Public Schools.

The schools were on lockdown for about 30 minutes, Ms. Mazur said.
