SWANTON — Four people were injured, at least one seriously, when a car Friday afternoon went left of center on U.S. 20-A in Fulton County’s Swan Creek Township and struck a car, starting a chain reaction.

Troopers at the Toledo post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said that Salvador Garcia, 42, of Wauseon, was eastbound on U.S. 20-A near Fulton County Road 3 about 4:05 p.m. when his car drove left of center, and struck the westbound car driven by Stephen Adkins, 20, of Stryker, Ohio.

As Mr. Adkins’ car went out of control and struck an eastbound sport utility vehicle driven by Charles Lemon, 71, of Lyons, Ohio, Mr. Garcia’s car continued eastbound and struck the westbound cars of Hannah Fisher, 22, of Lucas County’s Monclova Township and Gary Scott, 47, of Delta, Ohio.

Mr. Garcia was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where troopers said he was in serious condition.

Mr. Scott was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee. A hospital spokesman said there was no information about a patient by that name.

Mr. Lemon and his passenger, Joyce Lemon, 66, were taken to Fulton County Health Center. Their conditions were not available.

Troopers said that the crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
