An early-morning raid over the weekend at a West Toledo after hours club netted 27 arrests, police said.

The raid — by Toledo police’s vice unit, Gang Task Force, and the state’s Liquor Control Board — was executed at about 3 a.m. Sunday at the Wolfpack Motorcycle Club, 384 Phillips Ave.

Police said they found 1 pound of marijuana, worth $1,600, 0.75 grams of crack cocaine, worth $75, and two guns, one of which was determined to have been stolen.

Toledo police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said there have been numerous complaints from residents who live near the club, which prompted an investigation and ultimately the raid.

The sergeant added that, last year, when the club was known as CJ’s Bar, the department filed a liquor license objection.

According to a police incident report, 26 of the arrested are Toledoans; one is from Sylvania. It was unclear whether anyone was an employee of the club. The charges include drug abuse, disorderly conduct while intoxicated, and obstructing official business.

On 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Robert Kerns, 26, was shot outside of the club. A police report on the shooting states that Mr. Kerns was shot once in the back at about 3:15 a.m. as he was leaving the club. He was taken by private vehicle to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center where he was treated and released.

It’s not the first time police have investigated violent crime at that address.

In 2003, when the business was known as The Other Club, Meredith Warren was shot and killed inside by Jamal Bradley, who, in 2005, was sentenced to 15 years. Another man, Donnell Morris, was shot in the leg during the altercation.
