City elementary student assaulted, 1 student held

Toledo police took a student into custody Wednesday after a Marshall Elementary School student was assaulted.

Police said the assault was reported at 3:55 p.m., although it was not immediately clear if the incident occurred on or off school property.

A school official called police to report they had one person in custody and the victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Toledo Public Schools spokesman Patty Mazur confirmed the incident and that a student was taken to the hospital, but did not know the severity of the student's injuries.
