Perrysburg police are investigating the theft of money belonging to parent-teacher associations at two Perrysburg schools, Superintendent Thomas Hosler said.

The missing funds were discovered and reported to police last week, he said, adding that the money are not tax dollars, but instead from accounts raised through fund raising and donations.

“At this time no one has been charged with anything,” Mr. Hosler said. “We learned last week that there was some missing money in some of the parent-teacher organization accounts. Police are currently investigating.”

The superintendent wouldn’t identify the schools affected by the theft nor would he provide the amount of the loss. However, he said the theft would rise to the level of a felony.
