Gas leak closes Monroe in central Toledo

A gas leak in central Toledo has closed a portion of Monroe Street near Cardinal Street for about an hour today, a dispatcher said.

Police were called to the 3300 block of Monroe at about 10:45 a.m. after a construction company struck the gas line while working, dispatch said.

The street, as of 11:45 a.m., was closed in both directions.

The road reopened around noon.
