Manhunt for shooting suspect moves to Williams Co.

MONTPELIER, Ohio — A shooting suspect remains on the loose and is believed to be in Williams County.

The suspect, 25-year-old Zao Garth Burrell, is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Officials from the Williams County Sheriff’s Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are assisting Indiana officials in a search for the suspect.

The shooting occurred around 6 a.m. today in Steuben County, Indiana, and authorities chased the suspect across the state into Ohio, said Ohio Highway Patrol Lt. Clifton Spinner said.

The pursuit ended at State Rt. 49 and U.S. 20 and the suspect fled on foot, he said.

The suspect is a white man, 5’9’’ tall, and weighs 185 pounds, Steuben County Sheriff’s department confirmed. He has blue eyes, shaved brown hair, and “MOB” tattooed on the right side of his neck.
