2 Mulberry St. homes destroyed in arson

Two vacant homes on Mulberry Street in North Toledo caught fire and were destroyed early Friday. The fires have been ruled arson.

A fire early Friday that raged through two vacant houses on Mulberry Street in North Toledo was ruled an arson, Toledo fire authorities said.

The fires at 816 Mulberry and 812 Mulberry were reported just before 1 a.m.

Both buildings, which had been boarded up, were total losses, Battalion Chief Jim Aldridge said.

They were owned by William McGee, according to Lucas County auditor's records.
