N. Toledo man found shot in head on Elm is pronounced dead

A 46-year-old man who was found shot in the head Saturday night in a parked vehicle in North Toledo died later at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Toledo police said Marvin Hawkins' single gunshot wound was believed to be self-inflicted.

Police were dispatched shortly after 7 p.m. to the 800 block of Elm Street, where they said they found Mr. Hawkins in the passenger seat of a sport utility vehicle.

According to police, Mr. Hawkins, who police say lived at 3444 E. Manhattan Blvd., pulled up in his vehicle in front of a family member's house and parked about 7:10 p.m.

Witnesses then heard one shot.
