2 flee as I-75 chase ends in crash

Authorities were involved in a high-speed chase Saturday night on northbound I-75 that originated in Perrysburg Township and ended near the Michigan line when the car's occupants crashed and then fled on foot.

Township police began chasing the vehicle about 7:30 p.m. on Fremont Pike in front of the Best Buy store.

When police crews crossed into Toledo, the city police department joined the pursuit, which authorities said at times exceeded 100 miles per hour.

The vehicle's occupants, a man and a woman, crashed the car on I-75 and ran off, authorities said.

No one was injured, but authorities were not able to provide additional details.
