PORT CLINTON, Ohio — Authorities today identified the woman who was flown to a hospital after she was injured in a two-vehicle crash on State Rt. 53 on Catawba Island Sunday, authorities said.

Josephine Foutes, 20, who was driving a car, was flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to the Sandusky post of the Ohio Highway Patrol. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

Ms. Foutes was driving on Route 53 near Cedarlane RV Park about 11:15 a.m. when her car crashed into a pickup that was turning into a private driveway at the campground, striking the pickup in the rear, troopers said.

Sandra Strong, 46, a passenger in the pickup truck, was treated for minor injuries at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, according to the post.

No citations had been issued as of early today, troopers said.

The incident happened about 10 miles northeast of Port Clinton, which is about 40 miles east of Toledo.
