Teen killed in crash in Berlin Township

A 15-year-old girl was killed Tuesday night in Berlin Township after the car she was in lost control and crashed into a median guard rail, Michigan State Police reported.

The vehicle, driven by a 19-year-old, was traveling north bound on I-75 just north of Newport Road. The 15-year-old was ejected from the rear seat onto the roadway and died at the scene. The driver and two other passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries, police reported.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m.

Police are still investigating the incident. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, officials said.

The 15-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt.
