FINDLAY — A Kentucky man is being held in the Hancock County jail after troopers reportedly found drugs inside his car.

Denzel Hennegham, 25, of Frankfort., Ky., is charged with three drug possession charges.

Troopers, at 1:57 p.m. on Wednesday, stopped a rented 2012 Chevrolet Impala on southbound I-75 in Findlay for a marked lanes violation, officials said.

During the stop, troopers said they smelled marijuana and, during a search of the vehicle, found several bags of illegal prescription pills — 840 Loratab tablets and 780 Oxycontin pills — and 2,379 milliliters of liquid codeine in a suitcase in the trunk.

The drugs are worth a reported $35,000, troopers said.

If convicted, the suspect could face up to 18 years in prison and up to a $35,000 fine.
