Bond set at $50,000 for Toledo woman accused of shooting neighbor

A Toledo woman is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond for allegedly shooting her neighbor.

Marilyn Doss, 55, of 1146 Fernwood Ave., is charged with one count of felonious assault. She was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court today.

Ms. Doss is accused of shooting her neighbor, Timothy Brazzel, 53, in the street on Fernwood.

Police said the two had a verbal argument which escalated after the victim allegedly punched Ms. Doss and her daughter in the head, according to a police incident report.

The suspect reportedly went into her home and came back with a .22 caliber revolver, firing two rounds. One bullet struck the victim in the right side of his forehead, but according to police, did not penetrate his skull.

The shooting was reported at 6:23 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.

Ms. Doss is scheduled to appear in court again on July 20.
