A man arrested in Bowling Green on 70 counts each of sexual assault of a minor and risk or injury to a minor is in the Wood County jail pending extradition to Connecticut.

Carlos Rodriguez, 34, was working as a maintenance man in Bowling Green with an alias of Ramon Compo when the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested him Tuesday.

Mr. Rodriguez, from El Salvador, was in the country illegally, said Deputy U.S. Marshal Rodney Hartzell. It's unclear how long he was living in the United States.

Deputy Marshal Hartzell said a warrant for Mr. Rodriguez was issued by police in Bridgeport, Conn., on July 13. In addition to the sexual assault and risk charges, the warrant included one count of theft of a motor vehicle.

The task force received information from a "confidential source" that Mr. Rodriguez was working in Bowling Green and, on Tuesday, the suspect was arrested on Wooster Street while he was working. Deputy Marshal Hartzell declined to name the company for which the suspect worked.

The warrants allege Mr. Rodriguez was sexually abusing a girl, younger than 13 years old, who is a family friend, the deputy marshal said.

The marshal said the suspect was living in Cincinnati but would drive to the Bowling Green area for work and spend three to four days at a time in the area, staying at a Rossford hotel.

Deputy Marshal Hartzell said the suspect did not resist when approached by marshals. Mr. Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court on Monday .
