PIONEER, Ohio — An 81-year-old Hillsdale County man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident today at an intersection near Lake Seneca in Williams County.

Marvin Brown of Camden, Mich., was transferred to Monpelier Hospital, where he pronounced dead about 10 a.m. after the accident at State Rt. 576 and County Road R, the Ohio Highway Patrol said. His wife, Vina Brown, 74, who was a passenger, was transported to the hospital and later airlifted to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, where she was listed in serious condition.

Troopers said Laura Starrett, 39, of Bryan, Ohio, was driving west on County Road R and failed to yield for the stop sign at Route 576, colliding with Mr. Brown’s southbound pickup.

Ms. Starrett and her passenger, Camie Starrett, 15, were taken to St. Vincent’s where they were listed in fair and serious condition, respectively.
