Jose Moya Jr., 23, left, turned himself in to Perrysburg police Tuesday, after being sought in connection with the fatal shooting of Leandra Frankum, right.

A 23-year-old Toledo man surrendered to authorities Tuesday to face the accusation that he fatally shot his on-again, off-again girlfriend. His action ended a police search that had lasted since Sunday.

Jose Moya, Jr., is wanted in the slaying of Leandra Frankum, 21, who was shot once in the head. Detective Todd Curtis of the Perrysburg Township police said she and Mr. Moya had quarreled about the breakup of their relationship.

The detective described the shooting as a domestic violence situation. The homicide is the 27th in the Toledo metro area this year. The shooting occurred in a hallway at a house at 25864 Broad St. in the Perrysburg Heights neighborhood.
