One of two overnight fires in Toledo today was ruled an arson while a probe into the cause of the other fire continued, authorities said.

There were no injuries, according to the Toledo fire department.

Fire crews were called at 2:57 a.m. to a vacant house fire at 2822 Warsaw St. in North Toledo. Firefighters arrived at 3 a.m. and extinguished the blaze by 4:25 a.m., at which time they left the scene.

The fire was intentionally set, according to the fire report. It started from an fire set in the basement of another vacant house next door, at 2820 Warsaw, the report said.

Fire damage to the house at 2822 Warsaw was estimated at $11,500, according to the report, which lists Janis Kelting as the owner of the house. Damage estimates to the 2820 Warsaw structure were unavailable. Earlier in the night, firefighters were called to 1202 Ironwood Ave. in East Toledo, for a fire that remains under investigation, Toledo Fire Lt. Matt Hertzfeld said today.

Firefighters arrived at 12:16 a.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames. They fought the blaze without entering the house and extinguished the fire by 2:30 a.m., by which time the house was a total loss and an occupied house next door sustained exterior heat damage to the siding, according to the fire report.

The damage to the house at 1202 Ironwood was estimated at $9,500. The house, which is owned by Cody Wright, was later demolished, according to the report.
