Shooting at restaurant found to be accident

A man who reported being shot early Monday at a South Toledo restaurant accidentally shot himself, Toledo police determined.

Mario Gonzales, 19, arrived at Toledo Hospital early Monday with a gunshot wound to the chest. He reportedly told officers he was shot at the drive-up window at Taco Bell, 1422 Broadway, about 2:45 a.m.

He later told police he got out of his car to get money from a pocket when he dropped his gun, which police later recovered at the scene.

The hospital had no public information about a patient by that name.
