DUNDEE, Mich. — A Belleville, Mich., man captured after breaking into a home Wednesday morning confessed to a gas-station robbery earlier this month in Dundee, authorities said.

The 21-year-old man, whose name was withheld pending formal charges, stands accused of home invasion and robbery and was booked into the Monroe County jail, Dundee Police Chief David W. Uhl said.

Police said they responded to the home in the Country Heritage neighborhood and apprehended the suspect, who had pried open a back door. During questioning at the police station, the man admitted to robbing a Speedway convenience store in Dundee of $300 on July 6, the chief said.
