Toledo man, 20, indicted in June assault, robbery

A Toledo man who police say paralyzed a man by shooting him was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Thursday.

Breon Barnett, 20, of 527 Everett St. is charged with two counts each of felonious assault and one count of aggravated robbery, each with gun specifications. He is in custody in the county jail in lieu of $400,000 bond. He faces up to 22 years in prison if convicted.

Police allege the suspect robbed and shot Kenneth Downer, 29, in the back June 24 in the 500 block of Dexter Street.
