Two men rob Bedford Township bank

TEMPERANCE — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the robbery of a Bedford Township bank.

Detectives reported that two men went into Citizens Bank, 7548 Lewis Ave., at 11 a.m. today and demanded money from the employees.

The suspects, who said they had weapons but did not brandish any, forcibly moved the tellers around the bank as the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported.

Both suspects fled southbound on Lewis in a stolen gold-colored Buick Century, which was reported stolen from Toledo earlier this morning.

The car was recovered about 200 yards from the bank near Sterns Road.

Both suspects are described by deputies as black. The first is about 5 feet, 8 inches, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a mask, and gloves. The second suspect is described as 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a mask, and gloves.
