A Toledo man is accused of calling 911 and saying he was going to Washington to stab President Obama to death.

Carl Andrews, 54, of 1117 Jefferson Ave., is charged with one count of aggravated menacing.

He was arrested Wednesday and pleaded not guilty during arraignment Thursday in Toledo Municipal Court.

He was ordered held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.

According to court documents, Mr. Andrews was at Toledo's Greyhound bus station even though he had been told by employees there several times to leave. The bus station at 811 Jefferson is three blocks from the suspect's address.

Police were called to the bus station and as they talked to the suspect, he allegedly restated his intent to go to Washington to kill the President.

He allegedly told police that while on his way to Washington, he would purchase a knife to use in the assault, according to an affidavit.

Police say Mr. Andrews then told them he should be taken to jail because he "wanted to kill other people."
