Woman thrown from ATV after striking dog
8/20/2012MELMORE, Ohio — A woman was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when she struck a dog on Eden Township Road 171 with her ATV and was thrown, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Joyce E. Ziegler, 56, of Bloomville, Ohio, was southbound on TR 171 near Township Road 44 at about 2:30 p.m. when she struck a dog in the road.
She lost control and the ATV overturned, throwing her, according to the state patrol. She was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital, then transferred by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where she was listed in fair condition Sunday night. She was not wearing a helmet.
