Bond set at $200,000 for Toledoan charged in gas station shootings

A Toledo man accused of shooting two in a June assault was arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Charles Hayes, 23, of 1528 Woodland Ave., charged with two counts of felonious assault, is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

Police allege that the suspect shot Marvin Davis, 31, and Erroll Brewer, Jr., 24, at the Valero gas station at 3365 Monroe St. on June 9.

The two men were buying gasoline at 2:50 a.m. when they were shot at.

Davis was hit five times; bullets shattered his femur and caused serious injury to his internal organs, according to documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court.

Mr. Brewer was shot once in the shoulder, according to court documents.

The case was continued to Tuesday.
